Bintan Beach When anyone of you go to Bintan beach, please do not get
in contact with the sand on the beach, ie., Wear shoes, have long trousers
etc...reason, there are a number of dogs who do their business on the
beach. Their faeces get dried and is mixed up with the sand.
Unfortunately, their faeces may have larvae worms. When anyone comes in
contact with the dried faeces, the larvae worms
will attached themselves to one's skin and bore in.
The next thing is these worms will live beneath the
skin and blister will be formed. You'll be able to
see the worms growing.
There is nothing much you can do, except to wait for the worms to die and
the blister will dry & the scab eventually fall off. This takes an easy 6
weeks and the itching goes on for most of the time.
The scar will also takes another 6 months to heal. My daughter went on
a company retreat at Bintan, the ones who played on the beach including
my daughter were all infected.
2nd one - BEWARE!! Beach or playground... Becareful while at the beach ...
DON'T go barefooted. In fact, don't go barefooted anywhere. Please be
very careful for yourself and your love ones
(especially those who frequent beaches / playgrounds).
Just got back from an emergency meeting from Changi General Hospital.
Apparently, an adult man and a 3 year old kid have been infected with H.I.V
virus and guess what... the man got it when he was walking along the East
Coast beach barefooted when he stepped on a used syringe. The needle was
infected with the virus from a drug addict with HIV and after consuming the
drug, he disposed the needle on our heavenly, sandy beach of East Coast.
As for the poor kid, she got infected while sliding down a slide in a
playground in the West Coast area and got poked by a syringe upon stepping
on the ground, again bare- footed. The syringe was again tested to be used
by drug addicts who were HIV carriers. Both of them tested positive for HIV
after 2 months.
